00:00 Val came to Orange to live in 1955,
00:03 and I suppose most of you weren't even born then.
00:05 (LAUGHTER)
00:07 But I've known Val for a very, very long time,
00:09 and I still miss her very much.
00:12 She worked tirelessly for hockey and the eight-day games.
00:16 Whatever she put herself into,
00:18 she was dedicated and really gave her all, as you all know.
00:22 We've had ups, we've had downs, we've had laughs, we've had cries,
00:26 but Val really was Cannobliss Hockey Club,
00:30 and we were very proud of what Val did.
00:33 She started off with Amazons, and they went to Cannobliss.
00:39 I started off with...
00:41 I don't even know who I started off with.
00:42 Who did I start off with? (LAUGHTER)
00:44 Marathons. Marathons became City.
00:47 And then, for some reason, I came over to Cannobliss,
00:50 and it's been a good club, and I'm very proud of them.
00:54 Val, everybody loved.
00:57 Also, Val, everybody hated at times.
01:00 (LAUGHTER)
01:01 She was a person who stuck to her guns,
01:04 and no matter what you said, you did not change her mind.
01:08 And as all of you will remember, every photo you had,
01:12 "Turn your collars down, tuck your shirts in."
01:15 That was Val.
01:17 But Val has been wonderful for Orange Hockey,
01:21 and we won't forget her.
01:22 Thank you all for coming.
01:24 Thank you.
