A volcanic eruption south of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik is sending plumes of smoke across a region known for its sweeping lava fields, volcanoes and geothermal activity. Although the eruption is slowing and the gas pollution is easing, the residents have been asked to keep clear of the volcano which has been spewing out toxic gas.
