British Gas plans to end use of overseas call centres

British Gas boss Chris O'Shea has told the company's AGM in Leeds that it intends to end the use of overseas call centres in the coming years but has not put a timeframe on the move. The company currently has around 3,500 overseas staff, compared to fewer than 2,500 in the UK. Mr O'Shea said the decision came in response to customer demand.
