I came across this cartoon show a while back and thought, "What the hell even IS this?" The intro sequence in particular is one of the most bizarre things I've seen lately. Since I had stumbled upon a DVD edition, I continued thinking, "Hmmm... maybe I could try to do a high-quality encode of the English intro sequence?" And, well, here we are!
This is my deinterlaced and filtered encode of the intro, as seen on the Serbian DVD release "Maruni". The DVD contains a movie edit of the show, which is why one of the text credits reads, "Based on the TV series". The audio however is taken from an official YouTube upload of episode 1 - youtube.com/watch?v=iKZz7mWz2js - as the audio on the DVD was a dull mono transfer. Anyway, enjoy this amazing weirdness in all its glory.
Btw, on some parts of the internet, this series goes under the longer title "Maroons, Journey of the Castaways", or "Maroons: La ruta de los Naufragos" in Spanish. I have no idea why; the on-screen title is just "Maroons", in both the English and Spanish video prints.

Want some more info? Okay. This 26-episode Spanish cartoon about a group of aliens shipwrecked on prehistoric Earth was produced in either 2001, 1999, or 1998, depending on which sources you believe. The end credits for the series has the copyright year 2001 (check the YouTube link above), so I'd think that would be the obvious answer. But even so, most websites state 1999 as the production year. (IMDb somehow has TWO listings for this thing - under the longer English and Spanish titles I mentioned above - and those listings say 1998 and 1999, respectively.) Perhaps production happened earlier than the premiere, though. A blog post by animator Rubén Francia mentions that a concurrent series from the same animation studio, "Alex & Alexis", was broadcast a few years after it was made due to problems with the production company: rubenfranciarodriguez.blogspot.com/2011/09/haciendo-historia.html Just for the record, the movie edit on the DVD has the copyright year 2002.
