00:00 People often say that tennis is an individual sport,
00:04 but it is never more beautiful than when it is collective.
00:09 BNP Paribas, faithful to tomorrow's tennis for 50 years.
00:15 Obviously you were the youngest winner here.
00:19 After that the big three prevented the next gen to make their way.
00:24 But now we have those two young Alcarez and Rune.
00:27 What is your view on them?
00:30 I think that both of the players are incredible tennis players first off.
00:37 You can tell that they are very hungry to win.
00:43 They are not afraid to play anybody.
00:45 That has been evident in some of their results against the big three.
00:51 Rune has beaten Novak the first couple of times already that they played.
00:56 That is not easy to do.
00:59 It separates them in certain aspects.
01:02 What makes great players great is their ability to believe.
01:07 When they believe and back it up with unbelievable play,
01:12 they give themselves opportunities to win big tournaments.
01:16 Like what Alcarez did last year at the US Open.
01:20 It is going to be a fun second week of the tournament.
01:24 How matches go will also play a role.
01:29 Roland Garros being the most physically demanding tournament.
01:33 If players have had some difficult matches along the way,
01:39 it is normal to be a little bit tired in the latter stages of a tournament.
01:43 We will have to wait and see how they pan out.
01:47 They are all playing well and healthy, which is good to see.
01:52 Could it be the next big rivalry in tennis?
01:56 Now Novak is still here.
02:00 I think you have a lot of great rivalries.
02:03 Rune is in there, Alcarez is in there.
02:07 Sinner is in there.
02:09 Zverev is still in that mix, trying to get healthy and playing well here.
02:15 I think there are a lot of guys.
02:19 One great thing is that tennis is looking very healthy on the men's side.
02:24 With Roger now retired, Rafa is probably going to play another year or so if he gets healthy.
02:31 Novak is still in the mix there.
02:35 I think these next group of players are talented, they are a lot of fun to watch.
02:41 They are electrifying in many ways and I think that is great for tennis.
02:45 Some people say tennis is missing the bad boys like Mike and Ro and some are happy that Kyrgios is here.
02:54 What is your view on that?
02:57 Do you think tennis misses those characters or is it just different?
03:04 I don't necessarily think so.
03:06 I think everybody has their own style.
03:10 Roger and Rafa are incredible competitors but they are very well respected and gentlemen off the court.
03:23 I think that goes to show them a long ways on what it is like to be a champion.
03:32 There have been champions in the past that didn't care about anything else other than what happened on the court.
03:36 I think that is partly why people were enjoying to watch Kyrgios play and watch him do so well last year at Wimbledon.
03:50 Everyone's style is different.
03:56 I think that when you have different characteristics and different emotions, especially in a tournament like this where they really appreciate the emotion.
04:03 Whether you are happy or struggling, they want to see you have that emotion.
04:09 Paris has always been known for that and that is probably what makes the French Open the French Open.
