Jesus can be understood as the heir, or inheritor of creation. His servants will be gathered to him in the Millennium Kingdom, and he will set up his eternal Kingdom on Earth. He will eventually rule over every created thing.
However, in this age there are powers and principalities that resist his Kingdom. They work against Jesus to keep the world in darkness. They want to maintain their place of authority in the world.
