46 Satellites in 60 Seconds: A Recap of SpaceX's Latest Starlink Mission

  • last year
Today, we're talking about SpaceX's Starlink 3-5 mission, which launched 46 Starlink internet satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The Falcon 9 rocket's Merlin upper stage engine generated up to 220,000 pounds of thrust in vacuum. After separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on a droneship in the Pacific Ocean, while the upper stage continued firing into orbit with the satellites.

The Starlink satellites were released all at once, using a spin to disperse before climbing toward their final altitude of 348 miles above Earth. SpaceX confirmed the successful deployment of 46 new Starlink internet satellites, completing the 81st dedicated launch for the privately-funded broadband network. That's all for today's Celebrity Spotlight Radio, thanks for tuning in."
