A man was arrested on Saturday evening following claims that Brummie TV presenter Alison Hammond was being blackmailed. A 36 year old man from Warwickshire was placed into custody on Sunday and has been released on conditional bail.

Thieves distracted an elderly shopper and took items from her bag in a supermarket in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, just after 10am Saturday morning. The woman, aged in her late 80s, had her bag on her trolley just after withdrawing cash from the ATM.
