Bakersfield tries xeriscaping for water conservation

The City of Bakersfield is upgrading medians around the city to feature more drought-tolerant plants. Landscaping with the goal of water conservation is called xeriscaping, and city officials say it could save Bakersfield a million gallons of water a year.
