Cart With Bells (Spoken Poem with Music)

Lyrics:

Cart With Bells

The people on the bridge were poisoning their minds
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells
If you’re looking for a treat he’s got all kinds
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells

The little girl looks back and tugs the arm
Of her mother who says something in Spanish
Because the machine is doing nothing but sounding the alarm
The human touch frankly always outsells
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells

The jogger looks back and starts to laugh that
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells
He stopped her in order to have a chat
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells

He motioned but she pretended not to get it
She’s blocking out sound with her outfit
She does not care what he has to transmit
Or that he believes she would wear the shells
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells

They’re ringing and make everyone look back
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells
The music of it feels out of whack
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells

He passes the sign for the homeowner’s association
He tries to solicit outside the gas station
He’s got lower prices and relies on donation
The shift director upends him on the sidewalk
There’s a guy pushing a cart with bells
