Marcela Calderón Andrade: Enchura / Kunsthalle Bern

Marcela Calderón Andrade’s solo show “Enchura” at Kunsthalle Bern in Switzerland is almost invisible at first sight. It consists of threads of dandelion seeds hanging from the ceiling of the exhibition space.
Official description: “The intersection of biology and geometry, as well as the conception of life as a circular process, are central tropes in Calderón Andrade’s practice. In –Enchura–, seventeen threads of dandelion seeds mark the intersections of seven imaginary circles, which structure the installation in a diamond-like shape which is functioning as a portal to some form of invisible knowledge. Unlike other plants, the dandelion does not require pollination to reproduce, but rather entrusts the wind as a messenger with the genetic information for its proliferation.”
The exhibition runs until September 25, 2022.
