Currently, more than 50 chemotherapeutic drugs are known to fight cancer. All of these drugs can attack cancer cells before they multiply. Most of these drugs act on the nucleus of a cancer cell, especially in the area where the genetic information necessary for the reproduction of this cell (DNA) is located. As a rule, the combination of different chemotherapy drugs (with different mechanisms of action) increases the effectiveness of treatment compared to using each drug separately.
