They told me always be proud of where you are from
And that family is what’s most important

But there was an obvious reason that I ran away
There’s a long-winded preacher at the pulpit unfolding his art
He has everything sorted on a single chart
The crowd jeered when he forgot the names
Of the bride and groom in the front
And he’d brought his easel and paints as a stunt
He passed around the plate to collect everyone’s blames
