Japan's Wild Year

Japan is a country of extremes. Beyond the noisy, high-tech neon cities lie vast and pristine spaces. Mountains, volcanoes, rivers, dense tropical forests. Here the tropics border on the Arctic. It is home to some of the hardiest primates on the planet, stealthy birds of prey, Ice Age mutant goats, and living fossil monsters. But all these amazing animals have adapted well to life in these pristine places. The unique intersection of the subarctic and subtropical climates has created the unique beauty of wildlife.
