Weakened by tactical and enforced changes, Thistle staggered over the line to a play-off. Ayr avoided one. It was a poor performance, shaky at the back and seldom seen in attack. Needless pens (5 and 61) were separated by a Sneddon fumble (30). Jakubiak's fine drive from the edge of the box (81) - his first club goal - was the only "highlight".
