Representatives of the project partners at Kelvin Hall, including Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council; Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Culture, Angus Robertson; David Smith, Director of Screen at Screen Scotland; and very senior representatives of the Tenant Operator and Director-General of the BBC, Tim Davie.

The identity of the Tenant Operator for the new Kelvin Hall Film & Broadcast Studio Hub currently being developed was announced today, Wednesday 8 December.

In early 2021, Glasgow City Council approved plans to develop this Hub, an £11.9million production facility within the historic Kelvin Hall with substantial support of up to £7.9million from the Scottish Government.

The Hub will play a key role in the further development of the film and broadcast sector in Glasgow, a location for many major productions in recent years, and a sector which has generated over £350million for the city’s economy over the past two decades.
