'Interesting footage emanating from Kahuku, Oahu shows an innovative tumbler machine in action.
This device, built by Ken G Kosada, is used for filtering plastic out of beach sand. It does so by taking sand and litter into the spinning metal grate, and allowing only clean sand to fall through while trapping the waste particles.
"This is 'Da Tumbler,' a beach cleaning machine to remove microplastics from the sand," Ken wrote. "I built these to clean our beaches in Hawaii but more so, as an education tool to start the conversation about plastic pollution."
