Fumiko Kishida will become Japan's next Prime Minister.  He won a dramatic runoff in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leadership. Fumio Kishida will be replacing Yoshihide Suga. He will be Japan’s third PM in just over a year and the 100th Prime Minister overall. Filling Suga’s shoes will be no easy feat, as Kishida will be inheriting a stagnant economy battered by the pandemic.
