Ethnic minorities in Australia experienced racist aftermath of 9/11

In the immediate aftermath of the September 11 terror attacks, many Muslims, Arabs, and minority ethnic groups bore the brunt of fear, suspicion, and anger, often culminating in racist attacks. Ghassan Hage, Professor of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne, says Australia saw an intensification of existing racist tendencies.
