On Wednesday morning, Sydney McLaughlin set the world record for women's 400-meter hurdles en route to winning gold. The American hurdler beat out fellow American Dalilah Muhammad to win. This follows Norway's Karsten Warholm setting the world record for the men's 400-meter hurdles just a day prior.
