VP Harris In Vietnam
The strategic competition between the U.S. and China has come to the forefront as Vice President Kamala Harris kicked off the second leg of her official visit to Southeast Asia in Vietnam. Harris told Vietnamese officials in the capital city of Hanoi on Wednesday there was a need to put pressure on Beijing regarding its actions in the South China Sea. The South China Sea is a resource-rich waterway that’s a vital commercial shipping route where trillions of dollars of world trade pass through each year. Vietnam is a vocal opponent of China’s vast territorial claims in the strategic waterway.
