The Civic Center is considered Shenzhen’s most iconic landmark. Functioning as the municipal government’s primary office space, the building takes on the shape of a flying eagle and is supposed to be indicative of the city’s soaring urban development.
The Shenzhen Civic Center can be reached from Lianhua Hill (Lotus Hill) Park by a pedestrian bridge. The long bridge passes the BOOK City area where you can also find the Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition and the Children’s Palace. The Civic Center can be reached within 20 minutes by foot.
