This mole-ablation procedure uses an erbium laser to remove mole cells on the skin's surface. The laser also targets deeper mole cells to avoid regrowth. The area around the mole can become red and scabbed, but it typically heals in one week. The entire procedure should last only 10 to 20 minutes. Main side effects include temporary bruising, puckering, and swelling.
