SA is the first state to restrict some single-use items

Plastic straws and cutlery are now a thing of the past in South Australia. The state has become the first to ban the single-use items in an effort to reduce waste in the environment. After a short grace period, businesses caught selling or supplying the items are facing fines or prosecution.
