In 1986, the #BostonCeltics were on their way to a record 16th championship banner at Boston Garden. The previous contest in Houston was a an infamous heavy weight bout having a nationally televised brawl between 7’4 Ralph Sampson of the Rockets and multiple Celtics players, including Bill Walton, Danny Ainge, Dennis Johnson and, most memorably the 6’0 back up guard Tor the Celtics, Jerry Sichting.

This fight goes down in infamy as one of the very worst brawls in NBA finals history but what happened in the very next game is often forgotten and, some people claim the visual was buried as to not add to the city of Boston’s reputation of being a racist town.

Yes, the Celtics won the day, and the NBA crown but the city of Boston found themselves with yet another moment, captured in time that most Bostonians would rather forget today.
