'Can I Change My Vote' , Trends on Google. Tuesday morning saw a surge of Google searches regarding the question. An estimated 60 million Americans have already cast their votes for the 2020 presidential election. Some states do allow early voters to change their votes, but restrictions apply to the process. In New York, early voters can cast a different vote than their absentee ballot by voting in person. The absentee ballot is then discounted. New Hampshire also allows absentee ballot voters to cast an in-person vote during the first hour of Election Day open polls as long as their previous ballot has not been processed. Michigan mail-in voters have the option to nullify their ballot by submitting a written request to the voting clerk before the end of day on Oct. 30. Wisconsin absentee ballot voters have the option of requesting a new ballot as long as they so before the legal deadline of Oct. 29
