Baroque is a game by Sting originally developed as a Saturn exclusive but later ported to Sony PlayStation and completely remade for the Wii and PS2. It tells a story of a world past a cataclysmic event known as the Great Heat which has occurred on 14th of May, 2032. What little remained of humanity has fallen into distortion into hideous monsters or insanity. The player character is an amnesiac tasked by an Archangel to purify meta-beings and find redemption for whatever sin he had committed, but forgotten. This is achieved through reaching the bottom of the mysterious Neuro Tower.
The game is a 3D first perspective dungeon crawler with randomly generated levels and accedes to most of the rouge-like rules except for permadeath, which is treated as a game mechanic.
