The MCU’s villains are sometimes the best part of a Marvel movie. We just love watching a great superhero villain really push our heroes to the brink and then it’s so satisfying watching them be defeated. Over the course of the entire franchise, the MCU has given us a whole range of villains, ranging from amazing to shockingly lackluster, and it’s always a question whether the villain will survive by the end to cause terror another day, or if the movie will eliminate them completely.
And sometimes we’re incredibly happy when a villain makes it out alive. Can you imagine how sad we would’ve been if Loki didn’t make it out of the first Thor movie? Or if Spider-Man couldn’t save Vulture at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming? When a villain survives, it creates some exciting opportunities for them to return in a later film to cause trouble.
