Camellia Place was born out of a need, and a conversation among gifted and knowledgeable friends. Founding partners Lauren Clifton and Denise Swords were inspired by personal passion to each care for their own aging Moms. Simultaneously, on the dementia journey, each of our mothers were becoming less independent and requiring a higher level of assistance. On a mission to find a community that exemplified safety, personalized care, compassion and joy, we soon realized that the place we sought for our mothers did not exist. This realization pushed us to look for a new way to make a significant difference in not only the care of our own mothers, but in the care of others in need of assistance as well.
It is intentional that our 3 separate homes are designed and programmed for varying levels of physical and cognitive function, and that by selecting the home that best fits with capabilities, our residents thrive in areas of independence, engagement, physical activity, and socialization.
A small neighborhood of distinct single story homes, three for assisted living and three for memory care. The three memory houses are specifically dedicated to the care and needs of residents with mild, moderate and advanced memory challenges. Each house features 16 private suites with a total memory care community capacity of 48 residents. Each home designed to minimize confusion and anxiety and to maximize socialization and freedom of movement, comes complete with abundant natural light, private suites, covered front porches, private courtyards, common living areas, family style dining rooms, open-island kitchens, and more. Safety starts with the design of our community and residences.
Precautions have been taken to ensure that our self-contained memory care houses provide full access to interior and exterior amenities while lessening the opportunity for unsafe wandering through a secured keypad entry and exit system.
