In this video, the expert explains the different parts of a Separator from the PE Petroleum discipline. Here, you will get to know about the various sections of a separator including inlet diverter section, gravity settling section, mist extractor section, liquid collection section, and gas–liquid section.
The inlet diverter section helps in the gross separation of liquids and gas. The gravity settling section is where the gas settles at the top of the glass. The mist extractor section helps in the collection of the mist-drops the come out of the gravity setting section.
The liquid collection section comes as a two-phase separator, where all the liquids get collected at the bottom along with the water. Once the liquid achieves the equilibrium point, the liquid in the water gets separated. The gas–liquid interface is not only a section, but it is one of the key sections in the separator.
