Catalyst emulator (oxygen sensor blende) is used for processing of signal, which arrives from the oxygen sensor. This microprocessor device ensures proper work of engine control system under the conditions when the catalyst is removed or broken. The converted signal from the catalyst blende in the form of signal from properly operating catalyst converter is fed to the input of electronic control unit (ECU). Thus, ECU considers that the automobile catalyst works properly and there is no need to replace it; housing of native catalyst or flash suppressor (stronger) is installed on its place.
