The Duchess of Rothesay, Chancellor of The University of Aberdeen, presented The Princess Royal with an Honorary Degree in recognition of her contribution to public life.
The Princess Royal has made a simply outstanding contribution to public life and sport for more than four decades and much of her work relates to education and charities based in Scotland.
The Princess Royal, who received the Degree of Doctor of Laws, is involved with over 300 charities, organisations and military regiments in the UK and overseas.
