Thomas Scott Edwards holds both a Master of Science (MS) in Real Estate Development and a Juris Doctor (JD) . He earned his JD from the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 2005 and his MS from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2008. He also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in business and marketing from Louisiana State University. In addition to his degrees, Scott is licensed to practice law in Texas and is also a licensed realtor in Texas.
Thomas Scott Edwards served as Co-Managing Partner for Edwards Development Group (EDG). In this role, Scott oversees the construction management functions of the company. This includes managing design and construction efforts as well as budgeting and scheduling matters. Scott also has several other responsibilities at EDG, including performing financial analysis, market and economic analysis, permit and entitlement processing, marketing and communications, public relations, legal analysis, and contract negotiations and property management.
Before working for Edwards Development Group, Thomas Scott Edwards served as a consultant for several other real estate firms, including Real Estate Investment Group, Coastal Horizon, and the tenant representation and brokerage company ICore Global. Scott also worked as a Development Associate for Peyton Cottrell Interest, Inc where he oversaw the construction and development of 300,000 square foot retail portfolio.
Thomas Scott Edwards also currently works as a trial and mass torts attorney for Jason Joy and Associates. He has several years of experience representing personal injury clients as well as in commercial litigation, employment law, and real estate transactions and litigation. He has represented clients in both a first chair and second chair capacity. Throughout his legal career, Scott has successfully worked on numerous complex, high-stakes, and high-value cases where he has achieved favorable outcomes for his clients.
