8 Lunches That Aren’t
as Healthy as You Think Some of your health-conscious decisions may not be as healthy as you think when it comes to your meals. Insider created a list of eight lunches that can be misleading. 1. Sushi: rolls can be
loaded with calories.
A single six to nine
piece roll can contain
as many as
500 calories. 2. Restaurant or pre-made salads: They can be packed with extra ingredients. The added croutons, tortilla chip pieces and dressing make it less healthy. 3. Deli Sandwiches: There are a lot of heavily processed ingredients in them, meaning there is a lot of sodium and nitrates. 4. Omelets: The portions are typically too big. The large amounts of ingredients used for the larger portion mean more calories, saturated fat
and sodium. 5. Veggie Burgers: They often lack essential nutrients due to processing, and some burgers use processed soy rather than veggies. 6. Wraps: They often have more calories, hydrogenated fats and sodium than
a sandwich. 7. Frozen meals:
They can contain
added sugar
and sodium. 8. Veggie Pizza: They may be healthier than the meat alternative, but they can still have high amounts
of sodium.
