Like all other parts of the districts, Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) on Thursday staged a sit in protest demonstration against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lakhimpur.
Also, the members of the AJYCP thoroughly condemned NHPC’s announcement to restart the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric project and termed it illegal.
Earlier on Wednesday, the members of the AJYCP burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and NHPC near the office of the Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner.
