Thousands flock to Uluru for final chance to scale the sacred rock before climbing ban is enforced

Thousands of tourists have flocked to Uluru in central Australia for their final chance to climb the sacred rock before a ban is enforced.

Filmed on September 29, Daniel from Brisbane captured the vast queues that formed at the base of the monolith as people rushed to climb the rock one last time.

The ban is set to start on October 26 as the local Anangu people consider the site to be sacred.

Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
