Australia bans climbers from Uluru in respect of indigenous tradition

Large numbers of tourists have been rushing to scale Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, before climbing ban goes into effect on October 26, 2019.  One of the world’s largest rock monoliths is being closed to respect long-standing demands from indigenous people who consider the site to be sacred.
