With Dr.Shanthala MD and Team

Studying and understanding human anatomy has been a great journey over the years. I still remember dissecting the complete Cadaver from skin to bone over one and half years. Since I could do everything hands on helped me understand and remember human anatomy so well. But we always need to refresh our memory. Early this month had a great time doing just that in Boston with Dr Jonathan Sykes a well known Beverley Hills Facial plastic surgeon and a facial anatomy teacher and expert. It was very well organized by @shanthalamd who took pains to make everything go so smooth. I am extremely grateful to the people donating their body for furthering research and education. This is no small task and takes a big heart. As a medical student I still remember seeing in the anatomy museum hall, the preserved heart specimen of an Anatomy professor from the same medical school, that was affected by rheumatic fever and hence the heart was dilated meaning big. He had passed from congestive cardiac failure due to rheumatic heart disease and had donated his body for education. On the specimen jar was written these words: “Big heart of a big man”. .
Yes it takes a lot of effort and study to be a physician. I only hope that medical education continues to empower future physicians at very basic and fundamental principles of learning. .
