NASA Releases Trippy CGI Animation of the Moon

NASA says the animation, created using Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data, shows how color and elevation maps are used in 3D animation software to model objects like the moon. They released the CGI Moon Kit as a way to make NASA data more accessible to 3D artists.
