A Homecoming For A PopStar - Caly Bevier

Missy and Adam Bevier are thrilled to have daughter Caly home visiting after two years working in the music scene out in LA. But as we learn on this Episode of Caly On The Good, this trip back to her Grand Rapids, Ohio home is not just about kicking back and taking it easy. “She has to help with everything,” Missy explained. “We keep her real. Just because you’re nineteen doesn’t mean you’re not gonna help Momma out.”
This visit is a chance for Caly to pause, take a break from her hectic music schedule, and spend time with her family and friends to catch up on what she’s missed. With Caly at home, her parents also get to reflect on all they have gone through together and all she has accomplished since her ovarian cancer diagnosis.
“I think what really kept our family together,” Missy recalled, “was having a daughter so strong and so positive because she was positive through everything.” Adam also remembers her strong spirit through those tough days but it wasn’t always easy to stay optimistic. “As positive as you want to be, there are always those moments that are going to creep up on you,” he recalled. “It’s a punch in the gut but thank god we’re at where we’re at now.”
Being home, Caly also gets a chance to reconnect with friends Riley and Seattle and visit their favorite coffee place, Grounds For Thought. Seattle has been friends with Caly since they were babies, and was with her all through her diagnosis, treatment and recovery. “She told me that every time I did cry, ‘everything would be OK’ and ‘I’m fighting through it’,” Seattle remembers. “I just brag about her more than she appreciates, but I’m her number one fan!”
Tag along with Caly, back in Grand Rapids, where it all started, and where a part of her will always be. She is proof that no matter how long or hard the journey, there is no place like home.
