Basketball Jersey Worn by Barack Obama Auctioned Off for $120,000.
The no. 23 jersey is from the former president's time
spent on the Punahou School basketball team in
Honolulu, Hawaii in 1979.
That year, Obama helped his varsity squad win the Hawaii state championship.
The winner of the auction for Obama's jersey has chosen to stay anonymous.
CBS Sports says that the starting bid for
the uniform, which was auctioned off
in Dallas, was $25,000.
Obama is a noted basketball fan, who has attended NBA and college games.
According to CNN, the jersey was saved by a younger classmate of Obama's who
wore the same number on the team.
Peter Noble, who was three grades behind Obama at Punahou School, claims
it was nearly thrown away
