American League Wins Seventh Straight MLB All-Star Game The American League defeated the
National League 4-3 on Tuesday night. The AL pitching staff combined
to strike out 16 NL batters. The NL recorded seven strikeouts, and
seven pitchers tossed perfect frames. Nolan Arenado, Colorado third baseman, via statement Shane Bieber, a late addition to the
AL roster, won the MVP on his home turf,
Progressive Field in Cleveland. New York Yankees pitcher
Aroldis Chapman closed the game to give the AL its 19th win in
the past 22 All-Star Games. Colorado's Charlie Blackmon and Texas' Joey Gallo
hit the only two home runs of the game. Players wore a uniform patch with No. 45
to honor late Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs. Angels Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella wore
No. 45 to honor their former teammate.
