Glenn Wood currently is the Plainfield School District Assistant Superintendent. He has been working in education for more than 25 years. He has been working as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for seven years. His responsibilities include supervising the staff and operations of the Office of Curriculum and Instruction. His work has helped the students in his district achieve milestones not seen in the district’s history. Glenn Wood has helped the students reach the highest graduation rate, universal ACT test results, SAT test results, Advanced Placement Scores, National Merit students, ACCESS scores, and PARCC scores.

Glenn Wood has been working in the Plainfield, Illinois school district for 10 years. Before beginning his career, Glenn received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics Education from Saint Xavier University, located in Chicago. He then completed his Master of Science in Human Performance at the University of Southern Mississippi. Glenn Wood furthered his education by completing a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Benedictine University in Illinois. Glenn’s latest educational achievement was his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Administration and Foundations from Illinois State University in 2016.

Glenn began his career working as a Mathematics Teacher for students grades nine through twelve. He used creative, innovative, and research-based teaching strategies and methodologies in numerous math courses including Algebra, Statistics, Geometry, and Advanced Placement Calculus. Glenn Wood implemented and taught the AP Calculus AB course at the school he taught at during his nine years at a math teacher.

Glenn then began to take on administrative roles in the school districts he worked. Some of the roles that Glenn has held in K-12 education are Division Chair, Associate Principal, Principal, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction 6-12. These roles were held in the Consolidated High School District and the Plainfield School District in Illinois. He has also worked in higher education for some time. Glenn Wood was an Adjunct Professor from 2004 to 2015. He taught multiple courses such as School and Community Relations, School Improvement, Curriculum and Instruction, Leadership, Conflict Management, and Foundations of Education.

Glenn Wood has also recently started a role that is different from his prior experience. He is an Associate at Hazard Young, Attea, and Associates where Glenn assists in consulting for educators. He focuses on Executive Search, Strategic Planning, Leadership Coaching, Community Relations, and Curriculum and Instruction.
