Trump's Golfing Trips Have Cost Taxpayers $102 Million During his campaign for president, Trump vowed he would never golf if elected and often criticized Obama for the amount he played. Donald Trump, via ‘Huffpost’ According to Huffpost, Trump has spent a total of more than $102 million in tax payer’s money on his golfing habits. $81 million has been spent on two dozen trips to Florida, $17 million on 15 trips to New Jersey, $1 million on Los Angeles trips and at least $3 million on a two-day trip to Scotland. Most recently, the White House announced Trump will be traveling to Ireland to visit his golf resort in Doonbeg. Jordan Libowitz of Citizens for Responsibly and Ethics in Washington believes Trump’s outing to be troubling on a deeper level.
