McDonald's Is Teaming up With AARP to Hire Older Workers The fast-food giant is partnering
with the interest group to hire
around 250,000 people. McDonald's says the plan is to
have new hires work early morning
and afternoon shifts. Some will start as early as 5 A.M.
when McDonald's says younger
people aren't as keen to work. The program will originally launch in a few states and target older people in the "lower-income" bracket. Americans 55 and older are becoming a larger factor in the labor industry. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says in
five years, this age bracket will comprise nearly 25% of that working force. AARP, via statement AARP, via statement
