Verizon to Launch Free App
for Blocking Robocalls It is expected to be available for download very soon. It will be a free version of Verizon's
current call-filtering app. AT&T also recently said it is developing
new features for ending robocalls. Both companies say they are
now participating in the
"SHAKEN/STIR" protocol. The technology uses authentication to expose robocalls and other types
of spam. Fake calls are on the rise in the U.S. due to them disguising themselves as legitimate numbers. While "SHAKEN/STIR" wont block them 100 percent,
carriers say it will let you know when the
