Hillary Clinton on Tuesday asked why Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is "so afraid of Democracy?"  That comment was made via Twitter and was accompanied by a link to a piece by the Palm Beach Post editorial board that raises the same question.  At issue is Republican's reluctance to support H.R.1, a bill that it describes as seeking "to lessen the influence of super-rich donors. To tighten ethics rules for Congress and force presidential candidates to reveal their tax returns. Most important, it would ban the most common forms of voter suppression and greatly expand voter participation."  The board also notes that McConnell, who is refusing to bring the legislation to the floor, has referred to the bill as "'a power grab.'"  It goes on to state that many of his objections sound like what he's really saying is: "'If more people vote, they'll vote against our party. And that's not fair!'"
