The new movie “Fighting With My Family” tells the story of Paige, a WWE superstar who paved the path for the women’s wrestling revolution. Produced by Dwayne Johnson, the Rock has delivered an homage to the sport of wrestling and the story of a dedicated, passionate wrestler who made Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch possible. But beyond the WWE stars of “Raw” and “Smackdown,” there’s a much wider world of indie wrestling to wrestle with, and it shares a lot of commonalities with anime, comics, and superheroes.
From the high-flying action of lucha libre to the hard-hitting strong style of New Japan, NJPW, wrestling is a diverse, vibrant art form that nerds everywhere need to check out. All Elite Wrestling is changing the game for professional wrestling with their “AEW All In” and “AEW Double or Nothing” shows, and we could be poised for a boom period that hasn’t been seen since the days of the Attitude Era.
