Trump Now Says He Wants A July 4 Parade At Lincoln Memorial

President Trump talked about a potential July 4 parade at the Lincoln Memorial.

President Trump announced on Tuesday that July 4 celebrations in the nation's capital may soon include another event. "We're thinking about doing on the 4th of July or thereabouts a parade, a 'Salute to America' parade," Trump told reporters during a Cabinet meeting. "It'll be…really, a gathering as opposed to a parade…perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial."  "We're thinking about doing something which would become perhaps a tradition," Trump further noted. "I think it could be a very exciting day, and the fireworks is there anyway, so we just saved on fireworks. We get free fireworks because it's already being done."  The president had hoped to have a military parade in Washington last year, but that plan didn't work out reportedly due to the estimated $92 million cost.
