bad habits are taking its place. 1. Loneliness According to Julianne Holt-Lunstad, a professor of psychology at Brigham Young University, loneliness has the equivalent of
15 cigarettes a day in reducing life span. 2. Sitting A 2014 study published in the Journal
of the National Cancer Institute found
that sitting all day increases the
risk of many different cancers. 3. Sleep loss In 2015, Professor Valery Gafarov, of the World Health Organisation, found that lack of sleep can raise the risk of stroke and heart attack. 4. Tanning A 2014 study published in JAMA found that tanning bed use leads to higher risk of skin cancer than smoking leads to lung cancer. 5. Poor diet The Global Panel on Agriculture
and Food Systems for Nutrition
published a 2016 study that concluded: Deaths due to poor diet exceeded deaths of alcohol, drugs, unprotected sex and tobacco combined.
